History of Stewarts Meats - Emmet Stewart began his family owned
business during the 1929 Depression.
He maintained a tradition of quality meats
and customer service.

Emmet's daughter, Dorothy, began her career in the market in 1933, and is
widely recognized as an expert on specialty sausages. She still uses the old time
secret family recipes. Dorothy's son, Butch, and his wife, Jeanne,
now make up the third generation involved in the family market.
Dorothy hopes her grandchildren will continue the
“Stewart's Meats” family tradition.

It was not unusual to see Emmet
driving down the country roads
making deliveries in his old model T pick-up

This past fall Stewart's lost Emmet's daughter, Dorothy, at the age of 95. It was with Dorothy's guidance and daily help that Stewart's has thrived over the years. She is missed--and remembered.

Dorothy, began her career in the market in 1933, and was widely recognized as an expert on specialty sausages. Stewart's still uses Dorothy's old time secret family recipes. Dorothy's son Butch and his wife Jeanne--the third generation, and her grandson Brian--the 4th generation are all actively involved in Stewart's Meat Market. It was Dorothy's dream to have her family carry on the Stewart family tradition and today her dream is a reality.
